Life Update!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted to my blog! So much has been going on, I didn’t have the time or energy to keep up with Paleo Bee. Now that things have slowed down, I’m excited to give an update on my life and get back to posting on here!
Life has been very exciting since I last posted. Along with the happiness of the past year and a half, there were also a lot of stressful times. Many of my digestive issues came back and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. Only after my stress had lifted did I realize how much of an impact it had on my health.
Here’s a brief update of what’s been going on since my last blog post:
In March of 2018, I got engaged! My then boyfriend, Tommy, asked me to marry him in front of my family. It was the most wonderful surprise. We started planning our wedding shortly after. I loved being engaged, it was such an exciting time. It also came with a lot of stress of planning the wedding!
In May of 2018, the apartment Tommy and I were living in at the time flooded. The apartment next door ignored a leak, which ended up causing water damage in our apartment. Most of the flooring in our living area and kitchen had to be ripped up and dried out with giant industrial fans. It was extremely stressful for me to live with the extremely loud fans and the ripped up apartment for 2 months until our lease ended.
In July of 2018, Tommy and I moved in with his parents and started our search to find a house to buy. We looked for a house from July to October. Tommy’s uncle was our realtor and working with him made the process so much better! House hunting in the Washington D.C metro area is competitive, stressful, and not for the faint of heart. It felt like we were never going to find the right house in our budget!
In November of 2018, Tommy and I moved into our new house! We were thrilled to move into our first home together -- and maybe a little scared about having a mortgage. We were finally able to slow down and focus on our wedding planning again.
I thought that my digestive issues would go away after the stress of house hunting, once we settled in our home, but they didn’t. I did go to the doctor to try to get some answers, but I wasn’t able to find any.
In June of 2019, Tommy and I got married! It was the best day. I plan to write about the wedding in its own post, so stay tuned for that!
Right after the wedding Tommy and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. While in Hawaii, I was finally able to fully relax. During the honeymoon I started to feel better. I felt so much better than I had in the previous year and a half.
Since the wedding, which has been about 6 months now, I’ve felt so much better with way less digestive issues. I am so happy to be feeling better after so long of not feeling well. Stress truly took its toll on me. Looking back I can see now that I probably took on too much all at once, even though it was mostly exciting things!
Now I’m excited to get back to sharing on Paleo Bee! Let me know what you’d like to see more of on here, leave a comment or send me an email!
